DML&C(Department of Military Lands & Cantonments) The DML&C is reputable on 15 August, 1970 at Dhaka Cantonment. It is one of the departments under Ministry of Defence. Director General, a Joint escritoire in rank is the head of this department. Three Military Estates Offices and fifteen Cantonment Boards are operation under this department.
Military Land is managed and controlled by DML&C through three MEO’s; MEO, innermost circle, Dhaka Cantonment, MEO, eastern circle, Chittagong Cantonment and MEO, northern circle, Bogra Cantonment. Military Estate Officers achieve their functions as prearranged by “The Cantonment Land Administration Rules-1937” and the “Rules for the Acquisitions, Custody and Relinquishment of Lands” and other interrelated rules. On the other hand, Cantonment Boards provide military like conservancy, road lamps, water supply etc. They supervise and controll all markets, slaughter houses, schools & colleges; dispensary & hospitals.
